A Survey on Comparative Study of Routing Protocol in Delay-Tolerant Networks

چکیده
Delay/Disruption tolerant networking (DTN) is another class of network communication techniques developed to sustain long link delay and frequent link disruption. Lot of work have been done in evaluating the effectiveness and performance of the different type of DTN Protocols when they are applied on different environment (like the environment where we don’t have continuous path between source and sink e.g. Village network, interplanetary network (IPN) etc.). In this paper we present a survey on evaluation of Transmission Control Protocol Convergence Layer (TCPCL) for communication and long-delay communication (eg.MaxProp, Epidemics Routing etc.). A comparative study of various Transmission Control Protocol convergence layer has also been carried out. We are also going to present comparison between different kinds of protocol for communication purpose in delay tolerant network.

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

Abstract Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a particular type of mobile ad hoc network in which vehicles communicate between themselves using wireless antenna. Due to unique characteristics of VANETs (e.g. high mobility of nodes and dynamic topology), routing is one of the challenging tasks in such networks. Consequently, delay tolerant networks which consider the disconnect nature of...

Due to the increasing use of wireless communications, infrastructure-less networks such as Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) should be highly considered. DTN is most suitable where there is an intermittent connection between communicating nodes such as wireless mobile ad hoc network nodes. In general, a message sending node in DTN copies the message and transmits it to nodes which it encounters. A...
متن کاملEffective routing protocols for delay tolerant network
Delay-tolerant Networking (DTN) enables communication in sparse mobile ad-hoc networks and other challenged environments where traditional networking fails and new routing and application protocols are required. Past experience with DTN routing and application protocols has shown that their performance is highly dependent on the underlying mobility and node characteristics. Evaluating DTN proto...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
